Middleton Elementary School Walkway

Background

Middleton Elementary School in Upstate New York had a requirement to provide shade structures in the student drop off/pick up area that would allow students wait for their parents without being exposed to the elements whether it be rain and snow or excessive sun.

The Challenge

The School needed a tensile structural system that coordinated well with existing architecture, was aesthetically pleasing, functional and durable without breaking the bank. They needed a firm that could provide a functional design with all of those characteristics in mind.

Middleton Elem Walkway

Solution

The school district engaged Tensile Structure Systems for the design and engineering of the canopies. TSS, in turn, reached out to Signature, a frequent collaborator, to provide necessary project management and installation services to ensure that their vision matched the final product installed in the field.

The Result

As they have done on my projects, the TSS/Signature team delivered a solution that as attractive as it was effective in delivering the weather protection the school required for its students and parents.
