Canyon County Correctional Facility

Membrane refurbishment for Canyon County Correctional Facility

80’ x 185’ Sprung Structure 14,800 Square feet

Background

In the mid-2000’s, Canyon County, Idaho installed a fabric structure for use as temporary housing for inmates. They quickly realized that this structure filled all of their needs and provided all the benefits of the “permanent” structures they thought they needed. When it came time to refurbish the roof, the solutions provided by the OEM were not feasible due to the level of disruption it would cause to the facility.

Solution

Signature was a natural partner for the project. Inspecting, maintaining, repairing and refurbishing fabric structures of all shapes and sizes regardless of original manufacturer is our core business. We had refurbished countless structures from the company that manufactured these buildings and were quite familiar with them. Plus, we had provided previous Inspection and repair services for this structure and the County trusted Signature to the job right.

Details

Our approach included a system consisting large membrane panels that covered the existing membrane roof and walls in full. with a new tensioning system and architectural grade membrane. The system was designed to minimize interior work allowing all hanging systems to remain in place. Signature was able to perform the work with disrupting the myriad of interior systems required for a jail facility
