Membrane refurbishment for Jesuit Dallas Prep School
Multiple tensile structures at athletic complex
In 2010, Jesuit Dallas Prep installed multiple tensile shade structures at their athletic complex. They were manufactured using a lightweight mesh material not designed for longevity or to withstand high winds. In 2020, a number of these canopies were damaged or destroyed by a storm. With the initial manufacturer not available to repair or replace them, Jesuit needed a company with the experience to work on structures they did not design or install.
Signature was a natural partner for the project. Inspecting, maintaining, repairing and refurbishing fabric structures of all shapes and sizes regardless of original manufacturer is our core business. While we had not worked with structures from this specific manufacturer, our experience and expertise allowed us to retrofit all of the canopies on a tight timeline.
Signature designed a retrofit system featuring a high strength waterproof PVC membrane sufficient to withstand extreme wind conditions. Being a much heavier and more architectural membrane than had been originally installed, it also provided a superior aesthetic to the facility overall.
Jesuit Dallas has what are for all intents and purposes brand new structures with new warrantees and a vendor partner that won’t disappear after the sale, all at a fraction of the price of totally new structures.
