Dexter Southfield School is a private school formed in 2013 when two schools– Dexter School, which had been around since 1926, and Southfield School, which was formed in 1992. Since the merger, growth, and change had been constant. The need to add facilities both for education and recreation was ongoing. Dexter Southfield prides itself on its using sports to develop the teacher-student relationship and most teachers also coach or have coached in the athletic program. The school needed facilities that matched this commitment.
Space for new facilities on campus was tight and at a premium and budgets were tight as well. Nonetheless, the school needed a new gym and needed it quickly. It was unlikely that a traditional brick and mortar structure could be completed in the timeline necessary and within the tight site where it needed to fit without soaring over any school’s reasonable budgetary expectations.
Dexter Southfield chose Signature for many different reasons: We offered the full line of services necessary to carry off this major project including design, engineering, fabrication, and installation.
