Background
The Crowne Plaza Hotel in Detroit is located on the Downtown Riverfront. It sits on the historic site of Fort Pontchartrain, adjacent to Cobo Center. Its prime location makes it one of the most well-known hotels in the City.
The Challenge
The client was looking to add an architectural element to serve the dual purpose of providing a weatherproof port cochere for their entrance as well as providing a stunning visual landmark that would contribute to the aesthetic beauty of the hotel.
Solution
Signature and its partners designed, engineered, manufactured and installed this state-of-the-art tensile membrane structure constructed of high strength structural steel and durable yet beautiful architectural grade PVC fabric.
The Result
The client was extremely satisfied with the new structure and the stunning structure is a well-known landmark on the Downtown Riverfront.
